Ramirazi Losing Colour

my blue ram who wasnt ever particularly colourful is now almost white. it spends all it's time floating near the surface hiding behind a feeding tube in a corner of my aquarium. i really dont know what is wrong. im not doing anything different. could anyone help me?

i have noticed that they have some degree of control over their colouring, however i have never seen my ram this white for such a long time.

What size tank is it??

What are the stats of the tank?? (ph, NH4, NO2, NO3, dh)

What other stock is in the tank with him?? (species and size)

How long have you had this fish??

Water quality and fellow inhabitants are a must in order to help you out.

If everything seems fine, you might want to consider darkening the water/ changing bachgrounds/ adding more dither fish/ hiding places.

i have a feeling its hard water. My bolivians lost alot of color when i first got them until i could adjust the tank params to softer water and now they are colorful!

Blue's are more sensitive to water params then bolivians so maybe thats why it is being effected so much?
