Ok i guess it isn't that big of a deal but my Rams have raised their first babies past the egg stage!! I thought for sure they had eaten all of the eggs like they usually do, but since yesterday they have been hanging around the top of a piece of lava rock. Today I look closely, and there are 3-4 babies wiggling around in a crater on top of the lava rock! I doubt any will survive because there are so few, but this is a first for them so Im pretty happy. I thought they would eat their eggs forever!

What exactly is the "free swimming" stage? When they can swim like a regular adult fish or when they can wiggle off of the substrate?
