Raising Snails

I am trying to raise pest snails to feed to my SAP. I've got a 2 gallon hex tank with a couple of danios in it and plant in it, along with a bunch of snails. What type of substrate would you recommend, sand or gravel? I am planning on using sand, but thought the gravel might be good, so the baby snails could fall down between the rocks and not be bothered.

I'd get the danios out, they're schooing and the tank is way too small. Umm, I'd use gravel.

Id use sand, its easier, to see stuff, and the snails cant hide in the sand, unless they are Trumpet snails. lol, ive got alot of pest snails if u want some, pond snails galore in my planted tank im nto tryin to raise them, but im sure doing a god job at it lol
