have ordered some microworms from ebay and been told all i have to do is make up some porridge, pour in the sachet and cover with a piece of kitchen roll, then in a few hours i will have some microworms.

is it really so simple?

i have done a little research and have noticed all the others add yeast to their porridge, yet the seller told me i dont need this.

im now rather confused?

all i do is mix up porridge with water to a gooey consistancy then microwave it for 1min, mix it again add water to make it gooey again, leave to cool, mixing in yeast from a sachet..
then add you culture of microworms<hey presto it is that easy,,,,leave it in a dark place them in a day or to they should all be climbing the sides of the tub,,,,,,,,,

then in a week mix up another batch then you should have a constant supply always at hand :good:

i fine those tuppleware tubs great to keep them in as you can keep the lid on :good:

do i need to order another sachet everytime i want to make a new batch or just take a spoonful of gloop from the old batch?
how long does one batch keep and do i have to keep it in a special place or just somewhere cool and dark?

antastic big C, so i dont 'need' yeast then? good good!

what i dont get is - do i use milk or water to make up the slops??

Place the oats in the container, pour on some boiled water and mix to a sticky paste then stir in milk to make it slightly runny but not too sloppy. Experience will tell. Always set up a few cultures at a time so as you dont lose your stock.

you can use yeast but be careful with it because it can cause the cultures to go off a lot quicker than normal. I normally add a little bit every few days and a satchet of yeast will normally last a couple of weeks.
