hi rainbow my female guppy is having fry this very moment but she has gave birth to one that looks like its still in an egg wat shall i do is it dead or still alive is there anything i can do to help it?
thanks for any replies

If it looks like an egg, it's not a fully formed fry. This is common in big batches, so don't worry about it. It's pretty normal. However, if it is a fry, you may just be seeing the egg yolk. Either way, don't worry about it.

Congrats on the fry. :D

i can see eyes.so it wont pop out of the egg at some point?
thanx for the quick reply

You can see eyes in the egg? It still may not be a full formed fry. Livebearer fry should not be born in the egg...so I'm thinking it's not alive. However, you could put in a breeding net, and see if anything comes out...

 ow thanks i'll do that. if it doesnt it doesnt but if it does that would be great thanx

thanx i think she's worn out already and she only had 1 and 1 in an egg lol

thanx for helping me!

Oh, you're welcome. I love helping people! :)

Yes, Guppies tend to get tired easily. It's hard giving birth! Are you sure she only had 1 so far, as they usually last longer then that before you see visible signs. Perhaps some are hiding? And remember to give her high-protein foods afterwards to get her strength back up! Bloodworms, Daphnia, Brine Shrimp...etc.

ok she has had 6 babies so far unfortunatly she killed 4 of them (i woke up and they were dead) but now she's having the most fatest poo its a browny blacky colour she still looks quite fat is it normal because it is really big!
thanx for any replies!

Have you fed any high protein foods lately? And usually, they do poo a lot when they are giving birth, or getting ready too. Don't worry about her, there isn't much you can do except try feeding her a pea if you're really worried.

frozen or not frozen,or doesnt it matter, its really fat and its bin there for nearly 2 hours now and i'm getting a bit worried, she seems to be puffing and panting all the while

Frozen foods? That's why. All my fish get this after eating high-protein foods. Explain the puffing and panting more, please.

Edit: Don't panic. Fish can usually take care of themselves, and there is not much you can do. If you are really worried, try blanching a pea, and cutting it up into teensy little pieces and feeding it to her.

well she keeps openin her mouth quickly (sorry dont no how to explain that bit) flaping her fins really quickly and just sitting on the bottom of the tank not moving much.

no sighns of diseases just that little red spot on between her lip and eyes still
