I've given up on trying to get pics of my Rainbow fish - they are always too fast (but only when I stand in front of the tank trying to take a pic  When I'm on the sofa and watching them, they effortlessly glide through the water quite serenely ....)

But tonight I thought I'd just try and get a few quick snaps - and I'm very surprised that I got a couple of semi decent ones even ! (Please excuse the algae ridden plants :X )

Sadly I only have one Boesmani and 2 Red Rainbows - hopefully in a few months time (fingers crossed buying a new house!) I'll upgrade to a much bigger tank and get some more :)

Hi Bloozoo,
The Melanotaenia boesmani is stunning, (as is the Glossolepis) I remember breeding those back in the early eightys when they became popular. You could get a pretty good price for them in those days. Have you got a pair.
Excellent pics BTW.

Thanks kimbowee and BigC :D

No, sadly his lady friend died shortly after getting her :/ I didn't think she was well to start off with and within a few days she died. I will definitely get a larger group when I have my larger tank.

My goodness, you bred them ? Strangely I can't find many (good) pics of them on the net. I'm surprised really. Hardly any of the pics on the net do them any justice whatsoever.

Yeah! hundreds of the little blighters.
I was a member of Bradford and District Aquarists Society back then and I sold them at open shows and auctions all over the north of England. 6-8 in a bag.
I see what you mean about pics. on the net, yours suprisingly is a superior pic to most.
The info is there though. There was even an Australian Rainbowfish Society at one stage. I think it's defunct now though.
