Welcome to the forum UncleScanner.

You will find that your rainbow cichlids look like this when they are 4 to 5 inch long adults. Do you have room for those fish, the barbs and anything else? BTW rainbow cichlids are South American fish.

Thanks for the reply. By the next summer I will upgrade to a 150 gallon aqaurium. My concern is, will the Tiger Barbs beat up on the Rainbows? I want a peaceful set up. i like how the rainbows will look when they get big. So can I add more cichlids for about six months and if so suggestions please.

the tigers wont beat up on the rainbows, no. as for adding other cichlids it may be hit and miss if you end up with breeding rainbows. I had a lonesome male and he kept everything to one side of tank, including the tiger barbs lol

well so far so good, the tiger barbs got a lill nippy for thr first day but once the rainbow came out and started cruising, the barbs toned it down a notch, all seems well. :good:
