I was at the LFS today and saw an absolutely STUNNING fish  -- the tank was labelled "Rainbow Celebese".

I googled it, but I'm not finding much info. What I did find said that it is a type of danio(?!), that it's a peaceful community fish, and that the scientific name is Telmatherina ladiges. Other sites have it listed as a rainbow fish (which makes more sense I guess?) under the scientific name Marosatherina ladigesi.

The ones the LFS had streaks of BRIGHT yellow on them and looked like this -- http://www.petresources.net/fish/rainbowf/mar_lad.html

Can anyone point me to some more info? I'm hoping perhaps a trio of them (they were $9.99 each or 3 for $27.39) might be suited to one of my tanks. But I want to do my research first of course!

(Mods - I wasn't sure if "danio" was the correct classification of this fish, or what "category" they belong in, so I wasn't sure where to post!! But please feel free to move this to the appropriate category for me!)

Sorry to bump my own post ...
But does anyone have any info at all? Everything I see says they're peaceful community fish (but that doesn't really tell me anything).

Could I mix these wth my angels and bloodfin tetras ... or is that asking for disaster?

Hello Mandi
I am no expert on Rainbows but I have a few right now. Rainbows are schooling fish and you should have a group of them. They will be fine with the Angels. I don’t know anything about the bloodfin tetras. They make excellent community fish and when the males display to each other its pretty spectacular.
I hope this helps.
Santos
