I decided that I needed a plastic right-angled bracket to mount my lamps and reflectors off of the front/back walls of a new hood I'm building.

My solution was this:

I decided not to use this method in the end (I'm mounting from lid instead) but thought it was an excellent idea to share. These are Arcadia reflectors and the gutter brackets (75mm across the top) seem almost made to fit.

Excellent idea Daza, means you dont have to drill the reflector itself.
I love looking in the DIY section of this forum as every so often someone has a really fantastic idea weither it be their own or adapteded from some other source. I all helps to keep the costs down as some commercially sold products can be made in the home.
Good one mate...

thanks BigC. I am a bit of a DIYer myself when I get the chance.

I have just posted some pics of the new hood I was speaking of in the pictures section.

And...another useful thing about these gutter brackets: Mounting from the walls of the hood, rather than the lid, means that long tools, such as tongs and algae scrapers can be layed across the top of them, like a little shelf. I may well use them on the back wall.
