My oto, whom lived in a 5 1/2 gallon with 5 (painted) white skirted tetras and a female betta, passed away last night. Somehow, he got himself wedged in a crevice of an oranament, and I didn't notice it the whole day. Part of it was sticking into him, and his belly was bloody, so I knew if I ever got him out he would die. I tried to free him for about half and hour, and then my dad finally had to pull him out by his tail. It was amazing how stuck he was, I have no clue how he did that. Unfortunalty, he floated to the bottom of the bowl where I had placed him, and died later on :(
R.I.P little guy.

I almost threw one in a drawer once when he got himself wedged in one of my veggie clips. I just happened to notice him as I pulled that piece of cucumber out to throw it away. Otherwise, he would have ended up in the drawer till the next tiem I used the clip. They can get into some very tight places. Sorry for your loss. It's hard to believe that you can become so attached to something you can't even hold.

Yeah, we all do get attached pretty quickly to our fishies...

I would have broken the ornament. Clown loaches are notorious for getting stuck, so when i went to my lfs and noticed some ppl crowding a tank, i noticed two had gottin stuck in a clay pipe, so the lady working there and i just decided to break the pipe rather than risking the fish.

Thanks guys.
I could of broke the ornament, but the way he was wedged in there if I had a peice of it would of gone right through him.
