Juliet, the heavily pregnant green swordtail died today. she had a rapid spreading fungal infection which started this morning and by the end of the day her entire mouth was engulfed.

When she died, curiosity set in... and we did a ... well, home autopsy... she had 103 baby fish in her... some well developed, some not so,

Such a shame she died, we were so excited for our first batch of fry.

We still have 2 orange swordtails, both pregnant with a week or so still to go. so we will await the fry's arrival.

The orange swordtail who also became engulfed in the white illness died this morning.

am fed up with this! they were both heavily pregnant and we were so looking forward to, and ready for the fry.

my partner is having problems with his tank the nitrate is red row and done water change and still has not changed we have lost 4 fish now 1 guppy that was pregnant along way to go but still so if anybody knows how to get it down please let me know were loosing all are fish

im sorry....it must be painful to see fishes die like that :(

it was, even more so i guess as she was so close to giving birth.

the tank is now under treatment, luckily i have another 2 tropical set ups in my home (thank god its a big house!) so have added a fan shrimp to one of the other set ups.

the tank undergoing treatment is doing ok, there are no signs of illness in the other fish. and we still have the pregnant dalmation molly - who seems to get bigger by the day!!
