What's the quickest way to remove meds from your tank. I need to use an anti-bacterial but my ever so helpful hubby put Protozin in this morning - thought he was doing the best thing!!

I'm gonna do a big water change and put some black carbon in tonight. When will I be able to use the anti bacterial? The label says wait 4 days but I think this will be too long!!! :X

I think with Protozin it says not to use other meds for 4 days afterwards like you said. I suppose a few good water changes and carbon in the filter might do it, but even then you're talking a couple of days at least. :/

Polyfilter or activated carbon is the fastest way

big water change and fresh cabon is the best way

Yeah, that's what I thought, I was going to do that and then put the new treatment in tomorrow. Or do you think I should wait a bit longer? Don't want to poisen them all by mixing. I could probably squeeze 2 black carbon sponges in, do you think that would work quicker?

Hubby was only trying to help, bless him, but he really hasn't helped at all! aaargh!!!

calm down your getting way to stressed,

just do a nice big water change add the carbon then tomorrow do another water change remove the carbon and start the new treatment

Cheers! Sorry  just panic a bit when the fisheys get sick and the OH calls to tell me he's been putting things in that he shouldn't lol!

Getting my new big tank on Sunday anyway so will be re-homing them all into a completely fresh tank in a few weeks.

Thanks for the advice peeps! Water changes ahoy and black carbon! :)

LOL! don't feel stupid Jasper! I asked KathM a REALLY daft question recently. She said all her plecs were on their bogwood rocket and I thought it was a special kind of bogwood - till she posted a pic and it was just a big pointy, rocket shaped bit! LOL!!
