Hiya
I was wondering about ways to cycle
a tank in 2 weeks maybe even 1 if possible.
I got an established tank already, and I need to set up a fry tank
pronto. They r biggish now so filter power isn't a matter it's just that my
current tank can't take many more fish so it's quite desperate.
My other option would to try a sell them the my lfs
but I really want to carry on raising them
thx in advance

considering they're just fry maybe taking less than 30% of the media from the existing tank and adding it to the new tank filter would speed things dramatically. I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable to comment first though! oh and you could take some of the old tanks water and stick that in the new one too, which would also serve to help the fry adjust to the new tank conditions

Thx for quick
replies. I also have a declorinator that I use calls
tetra aqua safe which says that it helps with bacteria growth
should this help?

Ok thx now I know
I also read somewhere that running the new media in my current tank
should help, is this true?

Edit: also the bottle didn't say that it contained the benificiAl bacteria
it just said it helps it quicken cycles somehow

Alright
also is the adding other tanks waTer helpfull?

Water from a mature tank does not help. The bacteria are almost all in the filter and on other surfaces in the tank.

most of the bottled stuff rarely (if ever?) works. Best way is to stick in some mature media into your new filter, preferably with the mature media in direct contact with the new media, so that bacteria from the old media can begin to colonise on the new media, rather than the other way round you mentioned, running the new media in the current tank.

Thx u
just another question
what ways r there to speed up bacteria reproduction,
ph, tempreture, hardness wise?

If you are going to skip cycling the tank and just add in fish, the actual tank water might help the fry slightly during the first day. After that you will be changing so much water each day that it won't really matter any more.

How can u speed up
bacteria multipling by changing temp, ph , hardness?
