well, this is probably a stupid question but i normally use tank lengths and litres to see if a fish is suitable for my tank size... but what is the gallon measured in; imperial, us or uk?

personally i dont think it makes, that, much difference. but a far i i can find. the rule came out of the US.

I use the following, with exceptions, of course..

Adult length of the fish must be the smallest of the following three:

• aquarium length ÷ 5
• aquarium width ÷ 2
• aquarium height ÷ 2

..but for the most part, common sense is usually good enough.
