My current stock is 6 mollies, two males and 4 females. 4 Platy's, 1 male, 3 females, 3 guppies, and two Panda cory's.
I've been hoping to get a Gourami and some small schooling fish but I feel like I don't have enough room with all my current fish.
(My tank is 30 gal, 36X12X18)

I have the option to give some fish to a pet store but we're leaving to go in an hour and I want to know if people think I have the option of adding at least the gourami to the tank without it being over stocked.

Please reply quick, I have to start soon if I want to catch the fish I'm taking in..

I think you have room for a gourami and some small tetras.

Don't get a three spot gourami (this means a blue gourami, gold gourami, or opaline gourami) these species can all be aggressive and territorial.

Try for pearl gouramis, if you can, they're great fish to own. (1 male 2 females)

You can also up your cories to 6-8, I'd highly recommend it, as cories like to school.

You can probably fit in some less active schooling fish to add some movement in the tank, something like rosey tetras or harlequin rasboras come to mind for me.

Since you've already got a good sum of fish, though, you'd only be able to keep a small amount in there. But I do think you have the room for it.

Given your six Mollies should reach ~12cm and you have three livebearing species, I would not be adding any new species to the tank.

I would say up the Panda Corydoras to 8, but these are a temperate species that ought to be kept in the 20-22C ballpark for most of the year and I suspect you are keeping the tank at ~24C for the Guppies' sake.

Okay..Thanks :)
I was thinking just one Gourami though, probably a single male, as I really don't plan on breeding, I have enough live food with all my molly fry...

I was planning on getting more corries, but does color matter? I was hoping fo get another panda cory and three albino cories...

I guess I'll just leave all my mollies in the tank. I was looking forward to rehoming them, but I did buy them so I guess I should give them a forever home :p :) yay for years of dealing with agressive male mollies :p

Panda cories and albino cories (assuming you're talking about the only albino cory I've ever seen, being an albino bronze cory) aren't of the same species, so they probably won't really school with one another.

A same species 6+ group of Corydoras is always more ideal, rather than a "pick 'n' mix" affair. Its not quite the same, but I came home with 10 Microsynodontis sp.1 catfish on Friday, but sadly so far they have not appeared to have changed the behaviour of my singleton survivor Microsynosdontis polli for the better (new ones are using the whole tank, the polli is staying in hiding and dos not appear to be interacting at all with the newcomers).

What temp do you keep the tank at?

A male Gourami could make things worse, upsetting your dominant male Molly. By chance rather than planning, my Ilyodon xantusi group contains three males, spreading their fiestiness more evenly.

The tank hovers around 76-78, as I'm told that's best for the live bearers but if it's to high for the cory's I can lower the temp by a degree so it would be tolerable for both..

Alright, so I should find more corries and... think more on other fish? lol
hopefully I can find another aquarium auction around to sell my guys at.
