Hi all, thanks for all the help you've all given me so far, but I've just got another question.

I'm treating my 10 gallon for ich. I've got some tetras in there and a guppy most of whom have ich. I've been using QuIck Cure for two days and the bottle says it would get rid of ich in two days.

Now, I'm not sure if I should coninue the medication just in case but I haven't feed my fish for over a day and I'm not sure if I can wait much longer before I do a water change (my Guppy is starting to show some signs of Ammonia poisoning [so far she's just been hanging around near the surface]).

It depends on many things, temperature, water quality etc. If your temperature is 21C then Ich will persist for much longer than at 28C.

I would treat until the visible spots are gone, then another 48 hours to kill the free swimming stage, turn up your temperature to 26C for a few days and this will speed up the amount of time you need to treat for. If you can its best to add an airstone or point the filter outlet to break the water surface.

You can do a 20% water change every two days while treating, just add the treatment to the new water before it goes in so the fish dont contact the raw chemicals.

Thank God. I've already done those. At least I now know I've been doing everything right so far.

Thanks.
