mate dont worry about egg crate its too hard to get hold ov! and i went to my local tropcail fish shop and looked in one ov the cichlids tanks they have rocks and stacks ov it just sat on the glass underneef! am going do the same thing now! they said its fine! let us know how it goes!

yea, i also asked at my lfs, they said the same. but then again, most people say fish store assistants know Jack Sh*t...

My 304 has been working for many many years. Has enough output for a 30-40 gallon. 55 gallon it can be a little small for I found out which is why I went with a fx5.

They are easy to clean and maintain. Don't know why they get such bad reviews. I hear great things about them from people around me and I see a few people on the forum with bad experiences and they stand out more then the good I have heard from them.
