- what are they made of

-Do they get bigger/ grow

Java Moss, will grow in almost any set up, it will not grow out of control quickly (just trim it every now and again) and IMO it does look nice.

Christmas moss/Xmas moss, Almost the same as Java Moss but just grows in a different pattern, IME it grows a little slower than Java Moss and looks just as nice.

Moss balls are basically balls of algae, they grow very slowly and are also very easy to look after, in other words they look after themselves

Unlike everyone else on the planet, I seem to be able to kill java moss stone dead. It's all gradually gone yellowy brown and died in my tank
