So after watching my neons, and my danios i have noticed that my neons have been getting darker in color(color more apparent than usual), so i was wondering, is this normal? or does this mean something good is finally happening to my fish in my danio/neon tank?

so the more "noticable" the blue and red colors are, the happier the fish?

Like with all fish usually (or sometimes the colors enhance when ready to mate) bright vivid coloring means they're happy. You'll notice neons turn dull, almost pale when stressed, sleeping or about to die.
My neons are a bright blue and red, they don't school even though there's eleven of them, but they're all relaxed and calm. I thought not schooling was something I might have to be concerned about, but it makes sense not to school if they don't feel threatened.

that is what i was thinking as well, if they arent threatened like my blackshirt tetras they wont need to be around eachother(1 male and 1 female)
