a quick question regarding lighting in a planted tank

would the room lights and say the light coming from a TV effect a planted tank?

Naw the distance is too far to get through water. So doubtful
 
hmm okay i was asking becasue altho its not bright but it enables me to see everything in the tank, better than my blue light

Yea but theres a reason why you gotta have your lights close to the top. You work out how much wattage vs litres and that gives you how much watts gets through the water. Any outside lighting have barely any effect.
 
that is a true point :)
 
As the techen said mate, if you looked directly at your lighting its so intense, where as internal lighting in your house is designed for comfortable viewing so unless it was an inch above the water surface it won't affect it. Sunlight directly on the tank can tho.
