So, typically I feed my fish when I get home from work in the evening. But, when I feed them it makes the tank water mildly cloudy for the evening, which is when I do all my viewing of the tank. Therefore, I've decided to start feeding them in the morning before I leave for work.

Two questions:

1. Is there any harm in just switching over, besides their collective disappointment because they are used to a certain time of day feeding?

2. My lights don't come on until about 3pm and are on until 1030pm. Is it a problem to feed in the morning with no lights?? There is ambient light present, that I would think would be sufficient.

Out of interest, what are you feeding them that clouds the water so much?

Flakes, they tear them into tiny pieces. The bloodworms and brine shrimp cubes cloud it as well

When I read your initial post, I assumed the cloudiness would be due to fish like corys or loaches sifting through the substrate as they feed from sinking foods, and this slightly clouds my water for a couple hours.  But if this cloudiness is caused by the mentioned foods, there are some options.

First, feed fewer flakes.  With upper fish, the flakes should be gone within seconds, or a couple minutes at most.  If flake foods are actually clouding the water, you might want to change brands; breaking up into particles is not what I mean here by clouding, just so you know.

If the cubes are frozen, thaw them first in a dish of water and then add the solid food but not the water.  If the cubes are dry, you might consider different foods, as these are not the best in terms of nutrition anyway.  Bloodworms also should only be fed once or at most twice a week; the frozen fed as a treat once a week are fine.

It is nice to feed fish when you are there to observe them, at least some of the time, and with the lights on.  Observation at feeding can be important and instructional in many ways.

cheap flake foods like own brands can cause cloudy water
