I have the RedSea Pro Co2 system currently, I have been pleased with it overall but recently the powered reactor that came with it recently died. Not a huge deal as I was not a big fan of the design, the Co2 input and power cord were on the top and bottom of it respectively, making getting it set in the tank a bit tough.

But now I need a new way to dissolve the co2 for my 55 gallon. Right now I'm just considering buying a small powerhead and hooking the co2 tube up to that but I was wondering if someone could recommend an unpowered diffusor that they have had success with, one less power cord would be welcome and I'm always a fan of simpler.

there is the glass ceramic diffuser, but a better option for your size tank would be for a reactor, you can get internal or external. externals hook up to your filter.
