Question about Swordtail fry

Hi everyone!

I have some 2 week old swordtail fry. The Mother is a light orange color and I'm not sure what the father was because I think she came to me pregnant from the fish store. Anyways I've noticed ever since the fry were born that 2 of them have black stripes on the ends of their tail fins. Do you think maybe the father was black or does this just happen sometimes? I'm just really curious

father could of been black but not likely, i dunno if u'v seen painted swordtails, but they'er orange wit black blotches on them. coulda been one of them.

Yes I think your right. I've just been reading up on painted swordtails and looking at pictures and I think that is what I have

The dad could also be a wag tail.

Yeah...just took a look at the wagtail platy and your right...looks similar to the fry I have. The fry I have only have the black on their tail fins which are almost compleately black.
