Probably adding fish too fast. How big is the tank and what filtration have you got on it? Did they show any sign of disease?

Eerrmms.... Seems like your tank might be cycled already, if it was for 2 months; but still, adding so many fish at a time is a DEFINITITE NO-NO. :( Your filter won't be able to handle the sudden biological load, and most of your fish *WILL* die. Sorry. :(

*is speaking from experience with Neon Tetras*

Mmmm, a 55-gallon.... That would be nice, but the biggest my Mom will let me get is a 10-gallon. Oh, well; that's okay; maybe I can convince her to get a big tank for downstairs. :p Until then....!!!! ^^; ;) :) :D

Tank is 94l river reef wirh built in filter system ....... they looked fine when i got them but there were 2 guppys looking a bit worse for ware at the lfs

What do you measure for nitrites in that tank Cash? The ammonia seems to not be a problem but nitrites are just as toxic and a 10% change, even daily will not control them in the second part of a fish-in cycle.

Keep an eye on those readings and do water changes if you see ammonia or nitrite go up at all.

I recommend that you stop all stocking for at least two weeks and (in the future) add only one or two fish per week *and only if the readings are 0*!

If you are in Europe, I would also advise you to buy a small bottle of eSHa 2000 and dose using the lower (tonic) dosing instructions. It is a general antibiotic and tonic which works very well on guppies, in my experience. If you live somewhere else, it is well worth finding an equivalent alternative. Guppies are normally very inbred, so are very fragile and susceptible to disease.
