ok so from my first attemp at breeding my bettas iv got about 8 left, it has been the same 8 for several weeks now. they range in size from (based on the growth chart on bettatalk.com) 5-6 week old fry, but they are 10 weeks old in just afew days. only one has any real color on his fins, and one other who is just starting to get color(both are just starting to get red like thier mom and dad i hope) the largest one is already a snail hater lol he has already ripped apart and consumed one of the snails nests. should i be concerned with him doing that or will he be ok?? all are doing great aside from being smaller than what im assuming to be typical fry growth except the one who is just starting to get his colors. he is the second largest and is having trouble swimming. he is able to swim for afew seconds in short bursts, but then sinks to the bottom of the tank at which point it looks like he is having a hard time breathing. does anyone know what could be going on with him?? could it be his swim bladder or something else and what can i do to help him?? they are in a 10 gallon tank that is only about 1/2 full so he can get to the top easy and hes got plants that he rests on more than hides in. so what im wondering is
1) should i be concerned with my one eating the baby snails that are still in thier nests??
2) what could be wrong with my other fry??
3) what can i do to help him??

Bettas grow quicker the cleaner their water is and the more healthy their diet is. What are you feeding him, and how often do you do water changes?

I don't think there's really any reason to be concerned, if hes acting fine, just keep an eye on him

2) what could be wrong with my other fry??

Swim bladder is very common in betta fry, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it is.

3) what can i do to help him??

Any way you can seperate him so he doesn't get picked on?
