when i had my last batch i feed them flakes that i sat for about 20 mins crunching up,i did try to use liquifry a bit later on but they wernt interseted so stuck with the flakes, they are soing well on it and growing like mad, everytime they see me they gather at the feeding hatch
anyway i had new fry yesterday and want to feed them liquifry, i have fed them twice now with it and added some crumbs of flakes too, when i add the liquifry it hits the water and dissolves, i cant see how they would eat that????? the bottle is 3 months old and has been used before.so should i use this or stick to what i know, i have some microworms to when should i use these??

I've never had fish not taking liquifry-it never lasts that long in my place to get old-but i dont use it that much anyway-i tend to crush flake up really small for my fry and it seems to do the job but theyd probably grow quicker on liquifry. (i think it is protein full). It is hard to see the fish eating liquifry as it disappears quick but meaybe they eat microscopic amounts....

To use liquid fry foods you must add some of the liquid to a small container (phial) of tank water. Stir or shake it up until it dissolves and the water goes milky cloudy. Then pour it into the tank. The cloud of food will disperse through the water and the fry pick up the minute particles.
The food also encourages the growth of infusoria in the tank water and the fry will feed on this too.
You should shake up the container of liquid food before using it. This helps mix the ingredients and gives a better food.

You can feed microworms to baby livebearer fry as soon as they are swimming. If the fry are from egg layers then they can be fed microworms when about 2 weeks old.

If you have a coffee grinder run some flake through that. I have angels hitting on it at two weeks, platy fry from day one.

lol thats a good use for a grinder.. not that i have one :( (so back of a spoon and dish for me then)
thanks ,great idea :)

Hi shel,

If you have liquifry, when putting a drop or 2 in to the tanks blow on the surface of the water and you will se it all spread nicely..

Crush some flake up using a blander, or fill a jiffy bag half full and crush it all up with ya hands...

The microworms are only any good for the first week of thier lives hun..

Have you not recieved that food i sent you yet?

thanx wayne, no it hasnt arrived yet, but im sure its on the way, think i may have sussed out the liquifry now as i did as someone suggested ( colin) and put some in tank water, shook it and poured it in, they seem to go mad with it so i hope its ok, i have also added some tiny flakes as well, which is what we did last time,so fingers crossed they will be little fatties in no time-seem to remeber being very worried about feeding them last time, but as a first time fish mum, think i was just being over cautious, anyway failing the above ill call them a takeaway :)

they will be feeding off the infusoria & algae living in and around the plants.

In the olden days we used boiled egg yolk squeezed through a cotton hankerchief.
Platty fry will take finely ground flake though.
