Hi there,

will crypt wendtii attach to a rock or wood?

and when planting anubias nana is there a particular way the rhizome grows and do i trim the roots before attaching?

C. wendtii, does not attach to either rocks or wood, but must be planted in the substrate with either a nutrient-rich make, or an inert substrate supplemented by rootabs, as the plant primarily feeds through its roots.

The rhizome will usually grow from an end, though I've occasionally seen branching on some of my older specimen. I often trim the roots before attaching, as the growth is a little faster, but I am pretty conservative with the trim. Some people say down to an inch of root, but I don't trim so much off.
