Can anyone tell me what is the difference between a co2 diffuser and a co2 atomizer? I currently have the glass type diffuser in my tank but i am thinking of changing it as the bubbles are a bit big in my opinion. I wanted something that would create really tiny co2 bubbles.

I run a pressurized system if that makes a difference

An atomizer creates significantly smaller bubbles, which allows for a greater CO2 diffusion into the water column. They are much more effective than the normal diffusers :good:
They can only be used with a pressurized system because they require a certain amount of pressure to operated

Atomisers are generally inline i.e. they fit onto the outlet from your filter and add the co2 to the water as it goes back into the tank. The way it does this dissolves the co2 a lot better.
A diffuser is what you'll often see in planted tanks - the glass cup like thing that produces co2 bubbles.

have a read here

I use both style of atomisers, and they both do a great job!

Thank you that was very helpful. I think I might have to get an atomizer. They sound a lot better than the glass one I have.
