I am considering getting one or two angle fish but i dont know whether they would be compatible with rams, neons, tetras, rasboras, plecos, corydoras, cockatoo cichlids, flying fox' and platys and guppys.

I am aware that angelfish are semi-aggressive, i was just wondering whether they eat small fish.

Basically they have the potential to eat anything that will fit in their mouths, just like any fish. The neons would be at risk eventually, though I have kept them together, the neons were in the tank before the angels and when the angels grew to full size they didn’t bother the neons, but there are many people who have neons become a snack for angels. They might bother the guppies not sure, the other fish seem fine depending on how small the other tetras are they might be at risk. Angels need quite a big tank though.

Thanks for the reply, the black neons are about 5-7cm long, i have afew rasboras as well, maybe if i got a small young angelfish it may not trouble them when bigger because it will have been brought up with them.

Sometimes angels & neons works, sometimes it doesn't. Starting with small angels & adult neons helps, having livebearers in the tank doesn't. The angels won't bother the adult livebearers, but you will never see any fry. Once they get a taste of live food, they may start to look at the neons as a tasty snack.

Ooo I didn't know black neons grew that big. I saw some in the LFS and didn't buy them because I thought they got to similar size as the normal neons.

On the angels and tetras side of things - mine are in with Penguin tetras and Columbian tetras with no problems whatsoever. I'd love Cardinals but the guy at the LFS said that I was wrong in my thinking that they get bigger than neons (he said they grow to the same size but brighter?). He's probably full of you know what, but I didn't get any just in case.
