I have a 45 gallon and saw a heater on sale that included a digital heater monitor as a bonus but it is a heater for a tank up to 70 gallons. Would this be ok to buy. It is a 300 watt heater. Would i just have to keep the setting at a lower range if I bought it. The 45 gallon is deep, it is a corner, almost hexagon tank and will be used for angelfish. The only thing stopping me from buying my angelfish is needing a heater.

Sounds fine.. Its a benefit if you ever had an emergency or cold days you have the stronger heater to keep the fish in proper temp.

Thank you for answering, I was leaving soon to go buy it. I phoned my lfs, not the one I am going to and she said that I would have to put it at a lower setting and it would have to work less to heat water so it would last for 4-6 yrs since it is working very little to heat water, that is a big plus. Having the digital reading of temp as a bonus is a plus too. It usually costs at least 15.00 for those digital reading thermometers. I will have to keep an eye on temp in tank, will start at low setting and up it until right temp is met then I can go buy my angelfish I have been patiently waiting for. :fish:

Heater is working great, the temp this morning was a constant 79. Neat to have the digital thermometer with it. Now just have to decide when to go get the angelfish. Have flu still a little and have gone out 2 days in a row, don't want to slow down getting better.

Go for it.. Haha Ugh Flu i hate the flu.. Where are you from.. That will give me an idea of how close the flu is to closing into me.. Well i live in NYC so the flu is likely everywhere ive been lucky enough to avoid it thus far.
