Right now I have a 10 gallon tank with a 3 inch goldfish and two corycats. (I stocked with little info on my fish! Bad idea, I know now. Everybody is healthy, I've made sure of it.) It just finished cycling a few weeks ago. The tank was established in July.

I plan to purchase a 30 gallon tank to move the goldfish into in a few months (when I gather up enough funds).

In the 10 gallon I plan to keep the corydoras and introduce more of the same species to form a school.

How many corydoras aeneus could I keep in a 10 gallon without overstocking?

How should I introduce them? Could I do it gradually, so that I get fish of different ages?

If I did it gradually - what should I do to quarantine? For a social fish like cories, if I got one or two fish at a time until I reached the point where things were fully stocked, would it be better to quarantine to make sure the fish would be healthy, or introduce them immediately if they seemed healthy - the reason being that quarantine would stress out the cories enough to make them sick anyway?

Could I introduce one more cory now before tank upgrades or should I really wait? (I don't mind waiting, of course. Yet I don't want my current cories to continue to be a solitary pair.... though I don't want to overstock my tank right now, as it's a precarious situation, eh?)

Answers would be greatly appreciated!

Quar the new fish, they will be fine for the short amount of time. I keep a single cory in with newly hatched angels for the first few weeks, they do fine being alone, as well as when reintroduced to their old group.

I wouldn't keep more than 6 corys in a 10 gallon.
