Python...

Yep, I agree on that one, I drain my tank into the loo so the height is lower at that end. I will have a look at pond hosing then :) Thanks smithrc :good:

(make sure you get a nice long bit... then you can stop sucking as soon as the water is over the lip of the tank and you can feel air coming out of the tube! - no more water in the mouth then :))

PMSL - thanks! The problem I have is that Baz holds the tank end while I go start sucking the other end. He doesn't notice the water coming (he should by the feel of it, but he's partially sighted so doesn't notie from watching), and by the time I feel the air coming I get a gobful anyhoo. I think I can live with that though if I can get a gravel vac attachment that will fit and be longer than the one I have.

I don't suppose you know of a gravel vac for 2ft deep tanks that has a longer shaft (God this post gets pervier by the minute) or has a handle (even better)?

I got one in with the rio 240 i just bought... its not 2ft but it'll do very nicely on the trigon 350. I'll see what make it is when i get home tonight ;)

Ta muchly - could always have a go at attaching one to the water change hose for less faff too couldn't I? Could do it all at the same time then. :good:

I too got a Python for Christmas. I was disappointed in the lack of suck power (probably due to sink and tank being at same level), and the water spray. I think a better faucet adapter would help, but when refilling, the Python device itself was spraying until I opened the manual valve.

Aprilia,
How do you start the suction if you don't have the python hooked up to the sink but out the back door instead?

Thanks,
Karl

Thanks ever so much :D I'll keep an eye open for them. :good: Baz says it's entirely possibly to use a hose connectory thingemebob to join one to a hose so I can do it all in one go. It's sad, but I'm quite excited.
