Morning,

Recently added some pygmy chain swords and was advised by RaDaR that they were in their emmersed form (see here PREVIOUS TOPIC).

Some of the leaves have started to brown and die off and I'm wondering what the correct method is for removing the dying leaves to allow the submerged ones to grow.

Also the plantlets I have are currently planted in quite close 'bunches'. Do I need to spread them out or can they be left to grow close together?

cheers
ZZ

you need to take the leaf off from the base, they normally will melt away in you hand when doing so...if you can notice early enough that the leaf is melting just take it off. It'll take about about 3-4 weeks before they start showing the submerged form. This is when they become less like carpeting plants.

ok, what about the spacing? Are they ok bunched together or do I need to space them out a little. Perhaps a few CM between each? If that's the case, I'm looking forward to that fiddly process on 50 stems!
