I have 6 Platy fry in a separate tank from my main tank exactly 8 days old - another of my platies in the main tank has dropped 4-5 fry so far (15 minutes ago). Anyhow, I have put them in with the 8 day old Platies and wonder if this is ok or not? I assume that they would not eat them as they are still eating minute flakes.

I cannot see any new fry, but this is not unusual as they are so tiny and I have a big clump of Cabomba in the middle of the 60 litre fry tank so they could be nestled in amongst that. If I have made an error, I will learn from it for sure.

One other question - at what age would you advise to put the fry into the main tank? I currently have 3 Platies, 5 clown loaches and 4 bristlenoses in a fairly heavily planted tank with caves (300 litre).

Thank you for any help.

their be fine together in the rearinf tank as long as they have plenty of space.

As for going back in the main tank they sould be fine by 6 weeks.
Large clowns are known to eat small fish but small clowns don't usually
