Put New Filter With Matured

hello,

iam trying to cycle my new 55 gallon aquarium. If i take my filter that is running in my 29gallon tank, and put it on the 55gallon, along with the new filter, can i transfer my fish now then? THANKS

how long do i need to keep my matured filter in my tank, for the new filter to gain the bacteria?

ID suggest running the new filter and the old filter on the old mature tank for a couple of weeks, then move the new filter to the new tank. Job done.

Just keep an eye out for spikes for the next week once you change over to your new filter. Daily water tests are essential during this change over period. Any ammonia or nitrite readings at all then do a 20% water change to dilute.
