O.k i have made a mistake i think,
I counted 17 guppys this mornign when she had finished spawning so when i got in i could only count 10,
I put her in a breeding box to preven her from eating any more not knowing the other 7 were hiding,
The poor gal hasn't eaten any but i am worried to let her out just incase she will,
your verdict please?,

Well she can go without food for a week. But since she just had fry she might need the food. Tough decision, but i would say let her stay there for another day and then let her out, because fry grow fast andin 24 hours fry DO grow.

I kno i feel so guilty because she was being a perfect mother, like when i fed them the flake food this morning it she was nudging it first to make sure it wasn't one of her baby's

BuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuMp :p

IMO I would take her out the stress from being in that box could kill her. If there is cover for the fry they will be fine if its just the female in there with them.

It is impossible to tell whether a particular guppy will eat its fry or not.I have seen ones in breeding traps at the lfs trying to eat them as they are being born.Others will completely ignore the fry
My guess is that if she has shown no interest in eating them thus far then its unlikely she will eat them now. However I stress the word is unlikely, not impossible
IF she is showing no signs of stress in the trap Id be inclined to leave her there for a day or two,
Better safe than sorry.

I'd personally take her out, but I'm also not much for breeding traps/nets. If she hasn't eaten by tomorrow morning, I'd definitely take her out, as you don't want her to die from stress. Or from exhaustion, since she needs good foods to get up her strength again after giving birth. What have you tried feeding her?

Edit: I saw she's going to another member. In that case, I'd take her out and feed her. You don't want a ton of stress on her from the move, not eating, and being in a breeder box too. Make sure to acclimate her to the new tank slowly. :)

I have left her in there,
She is eating now and dosen't look stressed in the slightest!,
Thanks guys
