Purple Fish

She naturally looks rotund...if peacock gobies lose their round bellies it means they are sick.

She had a boyfriend, until he rage murdered her....>

If your going to get the goboes, I recommend getting two females for the male......

It's not just the roundness, it's the yellow belly as well - they get more yellow when they are ready to spawn. I've always understood a pair is fine, certainly whilst my male is persistent toward my female, he has never attacked her.

id just love to keep a fish, in general that would look after its fry and show care and parenting, i seen a video on youtube a while back of a discus pair showing how they looked after and cared for their fry it just made me think how great it'd be to have that myself and be able to watch it happen in my own tank :D i know im turning this completely off subject but i just got the latest issue of PFK was reading through and now im hooked on the idea of hillstream loach after reading the article about them :) lol

HIllstream loach are hilarious little things, but they prefer cooler and faster flowing water. THey're not called "Hillstream" for nothing. And they're not purple. And they don't breed in the aquarium. In general, it seems cichlids are the ones that are decent parents - I think it was Minnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnt that won a FOTM earlier in the year with a cichlid of some description looking after its fry.

The other type that are quite good too are the wild betta types which are mouth-brooders, but they are horrendously difficult to get hold of.

I know these as 'blue danios' but god do the look incredible and lilac with bright orange stripe under the lights! Just cant find more photos and they are too fast for me to get a photo of.

Wow, I'll have to buy the magazine now. I purchased two hillstreams about a month ago £17 for the two BUT they are fast growing one of my favourites! They are so active during the day and AMAZING at keeping algae at bay. They do recommend strong lighting to promote algae growth, and well oxygenated tanks. When they are cleaning the glass at the front, they look like aliens!

How could I forget? It's actually the 2011 Fish of the Year photo - have a look at the site home page, on the right hand side (assuming you're using the same skin as me)
