I've been wanting to keep puffers again (I use to have a dwarf puffer). I'd like to put it (or them) in a ten gallon. I've seen leopard puffers, figure 8's, green spotted, and dwarfs most of the time. I'd like to keep something bigger than a dwarf, but I have a feeling none of the others would "fit" in a ten gallon. Any info is much appreciated (and I'd do fresh or brackish).

You could one of either:

Red eye (errr, can't think of the latin name right at this second)
SA Puffer - Collemesus Assellus

You could have a small group of:
Dwarf Puffer - obviously
Maybe 3 of those at the most.

Those are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head that might be OK.

:):p

I was planning on making it (probably, depending on what I got) a species tank.

Would a figure 8 work for a ten gallon? I've read in some places that 10 gallon is the minimum, and other's say 30. I would really like to have a brackish tank...something new I've haven't had before.

I'm really fond of the f8's, but I wouldn't want to keep them in a tank that's too small for them. Any advice, either way?
