Psycho Shark

Hi everyone ,
at the risk of sounding absolutley pathetic and pedantic, last week i bought a red tailed black shark (Epalzeorhynchos). He is my first fish. I put him in my brothers tank (as my tank heater decided to break before i put him in) and I have just recently moved him back to my fish tank- where he will normally reside. In my brothers tank he appeared calm, but when he's in my tank (1 day and a half now) he appears to be nuts-o. Swimming into the heater, swimming into the glass.....someone please help me. Am I being paranoid, or is my little Mark missing his friends?
ALSO, the pet store have told me that he has a friendly nature, but looking online...they appear to have decieved me...anyone wish to set the record straight?

What are your fish stats? Ammonia, NitrIte levels etc?

Need to know water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph, did you climatise him when you added him to your tank, any grains of salt on him, or flicking and rubbing.
How many gallons is the tank.

He seems to be happy in my brothers tank, which is why im confused as to why he is being hyper in my tank. Both Nitrite and ammonia read 0. pH levels are neutral. He's doing a lot of dashing and diving...maybe I will just keep an eye on him (maybe two if hes lucky), and see what happens. Could possibly be he's not used to such much disturbance in the water (I have bubbles...my brother didn't).

Did you climatise him to your tank, darting around it not normal, toxins, water quality, parasites, overdose of meds.

Hi,

Does your tank have plenty of cover for him to hide in ? plants, caves etc will make it feel more secure, the presence of other fish should also make it feel more secure.

RTBS are best kept alone so i dont think adding tankmates will help him chill out.

mite be better in the morning tho once hes settled in and been in the dark a while.

I think the presence of a school of tetras or danios would chill him out as they will act as dither fish. RTBS should be kept as a single specimen as they will fight each other and fish with look similar.
