Hi folks,

As you have probably gathered this is my first post here but I have been following most of the posts pretty closely for about a week.

The one thing I notice that seems to be missing is advice on how to prune or propagate new plants. Maybe I'm being dim as usual but sometimes where to cut isn't always clear.

For example my green cabomba seems to grow with the single minded task of reaching the surface, however if I cut the top off once it has reached the surface will it die or sprout another stem from which a fresh stem will grow?

Another example is my wisteria which have trimmed and now just has a brown stump where I cut it. On the plus side the cutting is growing quite healthily......

I've looked around from searches with google but there seem to be few answers and they are possibly oversimplistic for newbie needs.

Any help on this is much appreciated.

Well usually people cut the top off of cabomba and wisteria, take the cutting and plant it. Throw the bottom off, and let the cutting grow.

That is pretty much what I expected I should do for pruning, but I'm hoping to take some to my LFS for store credit (or more likely the odd bit of fish food) so I couldn't really see how to make some more.

Thanks for replying I appreciate all help.
