Propagation?

I know some of us have less or more money than others, so whats the best way to propagate plants? Do I and others Do it the right way (could of phrasied that better ) )

milfoil - cut and plant

elodia - cut and plant

swordleaf - when it gets big enough, I cut through the center and replant both halves

javafern & anubuis(sp?) - havnt had them long enough but intend the same as sword leaf

wisteria - cut a decent size off and replant

reeds? - Help here?

I have another (dont know what its called) largish leaf green top, purple under
