Propagating

Any tips on propagating water wisteria and ludwigia repens. The ludwigia especially, my tank is low-medium light and they are growing quite well at the top but towards the bottom they have no leaves. I want to achieve a full look with the ludwigia, so any tips on propagating them to achieve that or any other ways would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the bottoms aren't getting enough light, just trimming and re planting as low as you can to build up a bushy slope will work but that also depends how much light it cuts out to the bottoms.

Okay, will it be alright to just cut them essentially in half (thats about where the healthy growth ends) and replant without any roots? Also the stems leftover have well established roots so I could trim them down a little bit and then leave, with more light exposure will they grow new leaves?
