Yes you can buy it locally but it is still hard to get old of. Most people think ammonia = pure ammonia which is very hard to get. When searching for ammonia solution (cleaning products etc) they tend to try the big chainstores who do not stock it rather than the little shop down the road. It is harder to get hold of ammonia here than in the States.
