Hey I know a few people on here have used aquabid. I was just wondering on the process of it. How long does shipping take and how much is shipping?

Thanks

AB can be expensive, as the transhipper for the uk is VVexpensive compared to KGbettas and the bettalady.
the process is just like buying from ebay.
you pay the buyer and you then pay the transhipper to send your fish to you thru customs from germany. AFAIK the last person paid over £50 for the transhipper fee.
usually you would recieve your fish within 4-5 days.

you can also see if the seller offers EMS (send to you directly) but you run the risk of getting caught by customs and receiving a very hefty fine for both parties.

Oh right. Thats what Ive been looking at. The transhipper fee seems to be about £60 for 1-20 fish so I might have to give it a miss. I was after some nice females as they seem to be few and far between atm. Anyone know where their are some nice ones other than aquabid?

Thanks

Well I believe that the fish have to go through customs. The transhipper does this as they have to have a liscense. The fish are checked by a Vet before being quarantined. It is a lot of money!

I think this is the process anyway

Whew. That's an awful lot... Have you got to pay for documents or something?

for the fish i have had thru kgbettas the fees were very reasonable. But as now there is only Joachim doing transhipping for the uk ATM it is costing alot more as it is going to germany 1st and then on to the UK.

Can't wait for the UK Based Transhippers to start operating again, as it will be alot cheaper.

Yeah thats what I think im gonna wait for as that would bring costs down. I did see a transhipper from the UK on aquabid but I cant find him now and cant remember the name

My male cost $25, female was $20, shipping to transhipper $5, shipping from transhiper $46. Overall, it cost me $101. It took about 2 weeks until I got my fish because the transhipper didn't reply to my e-mails and then she finally sent my fish.

For now, I'm buying from a breeder that's in a near by state. I only have to pay $15 for shipping and the fish cost about $10 - $30 and it's $30-$40 for a pair.
