Problems With First Planted Tank

A good way to get rid of surface scum to to increase the surface aggitation from the filter, but in a planted tank that isn't a good idea as it drives away the co2 in the water. What fish are you planning on adding? Some fish are scum eaters.

The tank does have Co2 but i still have to get a Kh test kit before i can measure it. Then i have to see how good i am at keeping it stable. Once i get the hang of that, then i am planing to add a lot of sparkling gouramis and some otos, maybe a few other fish that i haven't desided on yet .
