Ok I'll start off by stating my tank conditions:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate : 100-250

GH - 16od
KH - 6od
PH - 8.0

I have a problem with my Siamese Fighter Fish, for the past few weeks its been acting strangely, and i thought that maybe it was due to all the changes in the weather we've had, from like hot to cold etc.

It started laying on the bottom alot and looking quite sluggish, and being stuck to the side of the filter where the water is sucked in.
But just a while ago i noticed it completely lying on the floor of the tank, and breathing heavily. I took the fighter out and onto my hand to see if i could see any gill problems, or skin irritations, or anything wrong and i can honestly say that there are no visible reasons for why it should be acting this way.

Its not looking good at all, and im afraid that it may die in a few hours.
Is there any treatment io could use, or anything i could do for it..?

Any input greatly recieved :(

(If any treatment is recommended, i must say i have snails, so anything that wont harm them.. thanks)

Hi
Your nitrates are way too high. Test your tap water to see what level you can get it down to and start doing water changes.
Do 50% and see what the levels are then. If still high then another 50%.
What size tanj is he in and how often are you doing water changes and how much? Is there filtration and if so what is it and how often do you clean it.
Any live plants?

Ok, the nitrates in my tap water are 50. So ill go do a water change in a min.

The tank is 7gal, i do water changes every week, and there is a fluval 1 filter in there. There are no live plants because my snails ate them all, althought i have just added a small amount of ricca floating plant to the tank.

The nitrate from the tap is a bit high as well but better than what its at now. What kind of snails? as ive noticed that snails dying can cause a rocket in nitrates so give the gravel a good clean out.
