after a bout of stupidity (I seem to be struck with these quite often :shifty: ) I've found somewhere to upload my pics... so here they are. It's a 5X2X2 120gl with predominantly SA cichlids in....

Full tank

Blue Acara's... that's the female in the front, and the male just behind her

The female festivum (There's a male about somewhere too but I'm not quite sure he's exactly the same species so they kinda ignore each other

Gorgeous tank, plantwise as well, i'd love to do a SA tank, after my mountain stream tank, asian pool tank, pleco tank et al come to fruition.
Ie; the 12th of never.
Beautiful :good:

thats a great tank you should be proud :good:
1 question the blue acaras<one at top of the pic looks same as my green terror....identified as green terror both on here and cichlid forum.....just saying to you but the one at the bottom looks like a blue acara....are u 100% sure its a blue acara and not green terror because now iam confused

Thanks for all the kind comments, I've still got an ongoing battle with algae but I seem to have finally managed to keep the stuff in check

I'm pretty certain it's a blue acara, she's slightly lighter in colour than the male but her markings are identical. They were both in the same tank with a load of other blue acara's in the shop so unless they got it wrong and slipped her in by accident....

I'll try and get more shots this evening when there's less light and reflection off the glass

For now here's another one of my female firemouth and male ram

and finally the supposed female blue acara...... can anyone clarify whether this is a really a blue acara or a green terror?

Nice fish, but your Blue Acara looks (to me anyways) to be a green terror cichlid... Or are these fish the same ?

Had a look on the fish index here...... I'm sure it's a blue acara, in fact my photo and this one are remarkably similar!!

Just had a look at your pics... How old is your green terror? She definately has that more pronounced forehead that the Acara's lack, I just hope mine doesn't develop one!! Love the Tank BTW, the Severum and the oscar are gorgeous. I was thinking about a gold Sev for my tank but my plants would be destroyed and they've taken more out of me than my fish have.

ive had it 1 year nearly....hope you have a blue acara  :good:
anyhow if not its not the end of the world
and thanks for the comments....the oscars are my pride and joy  the severum is great too
