Problem Cycling.

of course I would love to have some cycled media,
I assume you don't have to give it a dab of pure ammonia?

EDIT:
I just thought maybe this is the reason, but I don't see why
I fill up 20litre bottles of water when I do a water change and Add the Dechlorinater to the water mix it up,
Then I'll get the cannister and put the siphon into the bottle and pump into my tank,
that shouldn't cause the cycle problem should it?

No need.

Agree on atime & a date with donar person, donor perosn prepares cycled media, you turn up, donar media gets put in a bag, you high-tail it home, put donar media in your cannister filter (the inlet side of things - see edit above), close filter, turn it on.

Now you continue as if fishless cycling a new tank from scratch. Add daily amounts of pure ammonia - monitor ammonia levels, nitrite, nitrate (and pH just in case), as per the pinned fishless cycling thread by rdd1952. Hopefully in a couple of days if all goes to plan, one cycled filter.

No, that won't cause a problem I don't think.

BTW, there is no need to do that. Dechlorinator works almost immediately, I & many others make life simple for ourselves. You can fill a bucket with a known amount of water & pour that into the tank and then add dechlor to the tank or simply put dechlor in bucket, fill with water, pour in (I do the latter).

So that the fish don't get disturbed, I have a 5G bucket that I use, but that is heavy when filled with water and causes a right current if poured directly into the tank. I use a 1 L measuring jug - I fill the jug with dechlor'd water from the bucket - I then, WITHOUT tipping, gently lower the jug of dechlor'd water into the tank - only when submerged do I tip it up to empty - viola, no unncecessary currents.

Well the Cannister works a treat for filling the tank up, I don't make much current and so long as the bottle is above the cannister I sit and watch it fill.

So I do a 20litre drain then 20litre fill
