The plant looks like hornwort to me too. The most prolific plant I have is H. polysperma, which sadly is on the US noxtious weed list. So no selling that. Its illegal in Minnesota too, <---- I live 3 miles from Minnesota. Its funny how the law works.

I do a 50% water change every ten days. Would you think it would keep it under control if I pruned it every water change?.

Entirely depends on how fast it would grow in your tank (factors such as nutrients and light available, as well as many others).
Also depends on how you define 'under control', for example, I love the jungle look .

But I'd guess yes, every ten days should at least stop it from overshadowing other plants too much.

Cheers again. Sounds ok to me. I have 78 watts over a 48'' x 18'' x 15'' (around 43/44G according to PFK's calulator) tank and dose 5ml of Tropica's TPN liquid every two days. I also have Tetra Complete Substrate under fine gravel. I don't mind the jungle look myself, but usually like the taller plants growing up to then across the waterline, as my Vallis does. The Hornwort should do me nicely.
