Price Of Sand At Lfs

Why is it a LFS can sell sand for 20 dollars for 5 kilos, when you can get similar stuff elsewhere for 4.99 for a 20 kilo bag? It's madness !! I'm not talking about fancy bio-active sand or anthing like that, just "plain vanilla" ....

Because it's "aquarium" safe and guaranteed safe. I see light timers going for twice the costs of one at any Walmart or DIY store and the only difference is the company selling the timers.

You can also get 20lb/10kilo bags for about $12 if you look at the right online shops but that cost is about the same as the shop when you factor in shipping.
